Day 36 : A Hope And A Future

1. Do you worry about your future?

2. What are your hopes and what are your fears?

a. Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

What does God promise to those who seek him with all their hearts? Are you seeking him or something else?

b. Psalm 37:3-4
3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

What are the desires of your heart? Do you believe God will give them to you?

c. Psalm 16:5-8
5 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Do you feel this way about your life? Why?

d. 1 Timothy 6:6-10
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

1. What should make you content?

2. What will a desire for money and things do to your life?

3. How does someone "wander" from the faith?

4. What other desires could make us wander?

e. Romans 8:31-32
31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

How has God proven his love for you?

Application :

If you see anxiety or discontentment in your life, confess it as a lack of faith and memorize one of these scriputres to remind yourself of God's faithfulness.
